Questions:

1.Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Volunteered at Singapore Association of Mental Health. Teaching Clay Sculpting to youth recovering from Mental Illnesses.

13th August Did a Clay Sculpting workshop at Singapore Anglican Community Service. About 12 Participants joined the Workshop and created sea creatures. It was a fun session and participants found it very relaxing

15th September did a Batik Station for an event by Achieve Group. There were about 80 guests in a dinner event who experimented with some basic batik techniques.

9th December conducted a sharing Session on Batik art for c3a where about 25 seniors experimented with Batik technique. The session was very successful and c3a has acknowledged to start a 6 session Batik workshop in February.

2. How did you come up with your brand name?

Amore means Passion, Love, Fondness in Italian!  Amore also has first two letters of my name Amita!!

3. What got you into crafting?

It was my passion since childhood and nobody forced me into it. From an age when I didn’t even know the meaning of an Artist or the word Art I was always inclined to do it. My Art teacher was extremely good at drawing and coloring and I used to sit next to her observing how she drew and colored for hours.

4. What do you make and why do you make them?

Make Bright and colorful Batik Paintings.

Know Clay Art and have created lots of Colorful figurines and Projects like Aquarium, Mini Zoo and mini Flower Basket.

Have basic knowledge of Plaster cast sculpting specially Leaves.

Have been doing Oil Paintings for many many years with breaks in between. Recently completed Oil Painting II and III from Lasalle School of Arts.

Have mastered about 20 different styles of hand Embroidery. In this workshop participants learn to make beautiful wall pieces, cushion covers or other pieces of Embroidery with needlework. The styles include stem stich, chain stich, button Hole stich, Net Button Hole, Satin stich, Cut Work, Kashmiri stich, Lazy Daisey, French Knot and many more.

Have created a three-Dimensional Chariot with four horses, cut, carved and decorated out of Styrofoam.

Have knowledge of Adobe software including premier Pro, can do Graphic Designing and basic editing. Have finished 2Yr full time Diploma in 3D Character Animation and know 3D Studio Max and Maya 2013 to 2014. Detailed CV of technical skills can be produced if required.

I do it because I am Mad about Art and Craft

5. Do you have a favorite item that you have created? Is it sold or still available for purchase?

6. Are you a full time artist or crafter? If not, would you like to be one?

I would love to be a full-time Artist and Crafter.
